Does anyone else have a dilemma with the Council chambers for the recycling of garden waste and kitchen?
When the container began were to be used for garden waste only, then decided to include kitchen vegetable waste, now we have been told to put meat, fish skin and bones in the trash. While I think it's a good idea, most of my garden and kitchen waste goes in my own compost bin. Never place the waste animals in my compost and used to put in the normal waste bin. The amount of waste from the animals I have at most one liter almost full tub of ice cream per fortnight, which means putting my big bin for collection with this little amount, especially during the winter months. This seems ridiculous to me Does anyone else have a similar problem? How to overcome?
I think many people are having this problem. Iuse my compost bins also but we can also put paper products like cardboard in our green bins. And yes, only collected every two weeks. Which is fine, although uncomfortable, in the winter months. But imagine turning off the chicken carcasses etc in the summer months? Maggotts had last year, twice. It was horrible. And it smelled. I bought a wormery, which means you could put meat in it. Although this has not stopped the squirrels or rats trying to bite through it.
